Our Client is one of the APAC regions most successful Property developers, with multiple development in Australia as well as 30+ years proven track record of Residential Property Developments in China. They are now looking for an additional Legal Counsel to join their team in Sydney.

You will work closely with internal stakeholder to provide legal support for the company’s development projects in NSW and Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Legal & Procurement Director, the role is responsible for:

• Undertaking of day-to-day conveyancing work with external conveyancing teams;

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of documents and general commercial agreements in relation to the company’s project development;

• Provide advice and support on routine and ad-hoc legal issues;

• Liaise with, and manage the service provision from external legal resources, ensuring that the Group’s interests are protected, and risks are disclosed and mitigated;

• Undertake research on legislation and case laws when required and provide expert advice and opinion; • Manage legal documents to ensure all records are kept accurately and securely;

• Research, review and interpret applicable policies, legislations, regulations and/or legal advices;

• Participate in contract and dispute negotiations where required;

• Corporate and commercial transaction work;

• Legal project management;

• Support other teams on management of transactions and mitigate business risks;

• Manage internal policies, company secretarial duties and other corporate governance issues;

• Any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Group from time to time.

Key Requirement

• NSW qualification of LLB or equivalent, coupled with a current practising certificate.

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a solicitor with a law firm in property law.

• Minimum 3 years’ work experience in practice of real estate property.

• Sound experience in conveyancing.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Dual language – English and Mandarin (Chinese) communication – written and language

• Good interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships both internally and external stakeholders.
