Energy & Infrastructure projects
5 - 10 PQE   

Our client is a major player in the Energy & Infrastructure market in Australia, and is playing a huge role in Australia’s Energy Transition. They are looking for a talented Construction / Projects lawyer at the 5-10 PQE level to join their team.

Candidates with experience working on Energy Transmission and Energy Storage BESS projects will be especially welcomed.
  
Position Description
This is a newly created position that will see you play an important role in a high calibre legal team with responsibility for advising on both the front end construction documents and procurement aspects of:

  • large scale renewable energy developments and transmission projects.

  • Large-scale battery storage projects

  • tenders and related procurement activities.

  • Energy regulations

Beyond projects, the role will also involve advising on commercial contracts, joint ventures, corporate transactions, and occasional governance and compliance matters.

You’ll work cross-functionally with the commercial, engineering, and procurement teams and provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice that supports strategic delivery.
  
Ideal Candidate

  • 5-10+ years’ post-qualification experience gained in a leading law firm and/or in-house environment. You must have the proven ability to lead negotiations on behalf of the business.

  • You must be able to distill complex legal ideas into plain english and work well with stakeholders from different areas

  • Strong background in front end construction Projects law, with exposure to Renewable energy projects and specifically Storage projects.

  • Broader experience in commercial, energy regulatory and procurement matters would be highly regarded.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to advise confidently at all levels of the business.

  • A hands-on, pragmatic approach and a genuine interest in renewable energy and infrastructure development.

  • A positive and upbeat person who enjoys their work - who will contribute positively to the culture of both the legal team and the wider business
