eDiscovery Lead - Cyber Incident Response
Our Client is an international law firm, with the largest, dedicated cyber incident response practice in Australia. The team advises small, medium and large organisations operating across Australia and New Zealand, regionally and globally in response to a range of incidents, as well as assisting clients on matters of privacy compliance, cyber incidents readiness and resilience exercises.
The team is led by a Partner who is an internationally recognised leader in cybersecurity and incident response, and has a strong focus on team culture, innovation and the personal development of all staff. In recent times, the team have advised on over 1,000 incidents, including a number of the most high profile and complex incidents, both locally and globally.
About the role
We have created an exciting new role for an experienced and highly motivated eDiscovery specialist to join our leading and rapidly expanding cyber incident response team.
As the eDiscovery Lead, you will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination and delivery of eDiscovery projects undertaken by the clients Privacy Assessment Centre'. This role is critical to enabling us to provide a market leading, timely and cost-effective data management, analysis and document review solution to our clients following a cyber incident.
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who can take full ownership of driving and managing the eDiscovery process to ensure a first class eDiscovery service is delivered to our clients in the most operationally efficient manner.

You will work with clients across sectors, as well as lawyers and the broader operational team.
Please note that this role may be performed remotely and/ or on a flexible arrangement.
Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end eDiscovery process including but not limited to the identification, preservation, collection and processing of high volumes of client documents/ data and managing the data during the review, analysis, production and presentation stages.
Scope, plan, cost, risk assess, schedule and implement eDiscovery and other legal technology tasks including the development of project timelines, deliverables and resource requirements in collaboration with the lawyers and the client.
Manage the financial hygiene of the engagement including budgeting and tracking the WIP.
Lead a team of Privacy Analysts / Paralegals to ensure a collaborative, positive and service culture is achieved.
Responsible for training review teams, clients and legal teams on best practices.
Complete any relevant reporting and update databases to ensure the incident is fully communicated, recorded and tracked in accordance with our existing frameworks.
Manage quality control for the output of eDiscovery team.
Track and report to the relevant stakeholders on progress of the engagement and if necessary, make changes to ensure project goals are achieved. Ensure any issues are escalated internally in a timely manner.
Tailor workflows as required to meet the needs of individual engagements.
Ensure database integrity and security of data is maintained at all times.
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to support the development of the practice's eDiscovery processes, systems and procedures
Responsible for managing relationships with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure their experience is second to none.
Key skills and experience
An ambitious individual who enjoys working as part of dynamic and collaborative team.
A minimum of 3 years' eDiscovery experience in a leadership or supervisory role at a law firm, in-house legal department or consulting firm.
Experience in using eDiscovery review platforms - hands on experience with Relativity is essential.
Demonstrated knowledge of the eDiscovery workflow and processes, as well as the legal framework of eDiscovery including protocols, practices, and relevant legal standards.
Demonstrated knowledge of the current Australian regulatory requirements around discovery and productions.
Strong project and information management skills.
Strong time management skills including the ability to deliver under pressure, work to tight timeframes, and manage competing priorities.
Ability to draft concise, accurate and plain English notes and reports around the eDiscovery process.
Strong technical skills and the ability to articulate these concepts effectively.
Self-driven with excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as ability to develop strong working relationships.
Proficiency in MS Office Applications with advanced capabilities in running Access db queries and/or Excel functions for data manipulations.
An interest in cyber and privacy.
Proven experience dealing with customer-facing issues, as well as experience handling a high caseload and working in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
