Our client are a top international law firm they have built their local team by attracting the best of breed partners and lawyers from Australian Top Tier law firms.
They are looking for a 3-8PQE lawyer to join them in the Melbourne office to work under two experienced partners in the space and alongside 3 other Associate level lawyers.
Position Summary
Our client are currently looking for associates with an interest in Infrastructure/ Construction Litigation to join our Melbourne office.
As well as excellent academic credentials, you should possess the analytical rigour to grasp the legal intricacies of complex, multi-party construction and Infrastructure projects and the competitive spirit needed to thrive in the adversarial court arena.
Given our practice’s focus on oral and written advocacy, you should demonstrate excellent communication skills, a flair for legal drafting, and an enthusiasm for the linguistic and technical challenge of constructing legal arguments.

Our client represent clients in all stages of the project life cycle, which in the dispute phase covers claim management, mediation, expert determination, domestic arbitration and litigation including before trial, appellate, regulatory and alternative dispute resolution tribunals. As well as guiding clients through their most complex and significant litigation challenges, they also help them steer clear of disputes, by developing and implementing risk management and compliance measures.
As an associate joining their practice, you will be given responsibility for a wide range of tasks, spanning drafting and document analysis, legal research, correspondence and trial preparation. While you will not be required to undertake oral advocacy at a junior level, you will be closely involved in the development of trial strategy and regularly called upon to attend court hearings.

Duties and Accountabilities
Develop claims and litigation strategy for clients involved in major Infrastructure projects, and oversee counsel and experts to implement strategy.
Draft motions, trial briefs, examination outlines and other documents for international matters.
Guide clients through regulatory investigations by international data protection, consumer protection, and other international agencies.
Qualifications
3-8 years of infrastructure litigation/law firm experience
Australian qualified
Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity, creative thinker
Commercial and business awareness
Outstanding communication skills
Strong time management skills, ability to stay calm under pressure when juggling multiple projects
