About the Opportunity

The Assistant Company Secretary supports the Company Secretary in the management, and support, of the company Board and unit trust entities as required in meeting their corporate governance, legal and regulatory obligations. This also includes the supporting the implementation and administering of the corporate governance framework and managing the insurance regime

The role of an Assistant Company Secretary includes but not limited to:

  • Managing communications with Company Secretary, including the production and dispatch of management reports and Board papers and agendas

  • Managing statutory filings and lodgements in timely manner

  • Designing  and implementing  of governance related projects e.g financial delegation;

  • Maintaining the statutory registers and other governance-related operational registers;

  • Reviewing and improving operating practices

  • Preparing Governance and insurance budgets with Company Secretary;

What you need:

  • A Law degree or Certificate IV in Legal Services from TAFE NSW (desirable)

  • Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance (desirable)

  • Organised, methodical and attentive to detail

  • Responsive and highly efficient in the provision of administrative support

  • Proven experience to build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders including those at board level.

  • Experience in supporting a company secretary

  • Experience in or ability to use online board paper management system
