Our client is a multi billion dollar business in the Infrastructure space undergoing a significant transformation. They are looking for a Senior Compliance Analyst to join their dynamic and highly regarded governance, risk and compliance team to work on a range of activities including managing compliance with: the operating licence relevant to the business, the national electricity rules, ring-fencing guidelines and privacy law.
Role Purpose:
This role supports the organisation’s compliance management by taking the lead on the design, implementation, management and monitoring of compliance activities, non-compliance reporting, as well as supporting policies and procedures.
Projects will include writing board reports including the annual ringfencing report and supporting the attestation, assurance and audit process that accompany the presentation of the report
Managing the Licence compliance program
Key Accountabilities
Develop and maintain the compliance management framework and associated policies and procedures.
Influence, advise and educate internal and external stakeholders on compliance and legislative matters.
Drive a modernised end to end value chain of compliance and risk initiatives.
Advise on business unit compliance resources, including consultation on the implementation of divisional procedures, frameworks and monitoring activities to support risk and compliance activities.
Provide training and partner with stakeholders for successful delivery of compliance programs and ensure that the Organisation’s compliance obligations are met.
Report on compliance performance, risk and non-compliance.
Monitor and report on incident escalation and issues management as appropriate and assist in the investigation of compliance incidents or breaches as required.
Manage compliance responses to key regulatory changes and new business developments.
Draft associated Board and Committee papers.
Essential skills:
Tertiary qualifications (diploma level or higher) in a related discipline eg Compliance, Risk Management and/or Legal Studies.
Proven experience working in a similar role or team,.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in presenting.
Strong interpersonal skills with proven experience in managing internal and external relationships.
Sound knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks and proven experience in analysing, assessing and advising on a diverse range of related issues.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management and corporate compliance applications.
Ability to prioritise competing demands to utilise time and resources efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines/timeframes set.
Desirable skills:
Ability to understand and challenge the effectiveness of compliance controls.
Experience within the electricity power industry or similar.
Knowledge of AS/ISO Compliance Standard and Guidelines.
Knowledge of Ring-fencing.
