Our client is one of the largest businesses in the world, with operations in multiple countries on 5 continents.

They have a high performing legal team of around 100 lawyers .

They are seeking a Legal Operations and Change Specialist to work with the global Legal team to work on the strategic non-legal work to help deliver the effective and efficient delivery of legal services to the business.

This is still a newly evolving team within the business and there are four key areas of focus

  • Financial & Vendor management,

  • Business Intelligence,

  • Innovation & Transformation,

  • Strategic Planning for Legal

Key Accountabilities

  • Identifying, designing and implementing transformation initiatives including process improvements and technological solutions to optimise the operations of the legal function.

  • Identifying, designing and implementing data collection strategies and reporting frameworks to allow systematic data capture and analysis for Legal and data driven decision making.

  • Providing guidance and support for activities including but not limited to legal knowledge management, matter management, budgeting and financial processes, optimising the use of law firms value added services and reporting, supporting Legal Budgeting (including budget strategy) and law firm procurement.

  • Committed to continuous improvement and actively seeking out opportunities to bring innovation and process improvement opportunities .

  • Working on multiple projects concurrently using project management techniques and tools

  • In this role there will be very frequent interaction with members of the global legal team including Senior executives, this will require establishing and maintaining relationships with key stake holder including the Legal team and Business teams they support and the external Legal panel.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in operations or practice management or process/ Change consulting for a top tier law firm or Big 4 Consulting firm, Corporate Legal department or consulting firm

  • Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including Excel, (Power BI, Power APPs and Sharepoint capabilities desirable)

  • High Data literacy and data analysis skills desirable

  • Project management qualification is desirable (Agile, Lean Six Sigma preferred)

  • demonstrated financial and strategic acumen

  • Engagement and stakeholder management experience

  • Ability to prioritise work, manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
