Projects Lawyer

London - Magic Circle

Our client is one of the leading law firms in the world.

They are looking to add a lawyer at the UK PQE level of 3-5 PQE (approximately 5-7 Australian qualified) to their multi award winning Projects team.

Working under a Senior Partner who is a member of the firm's global projects, energy and infrastructure team and co-head’s the firms global energy sector group.

Their practice focuses on a wide range of privately and publicly financed energy and infrastructure projects and assets across a variety of jurisdictions, including throughout Europe, Africa, the CIS, the Middle East and Asia.

They regularly acts for sponsors, lenders, governments and contractors on all types of commercial and governmental contracts and economic structures, including concession, supply, offtake, joint venture, construction, funding, acquisition and sales arrangements and in sectors as diverse as hydrogen (including various power-to-X developments), electricity (renewables, nuclear, thermal), water, rail and oil & gas.

The ideal candidate will have experience of EPC, PPAs, other revenue contracts, concessions, and other commercial contracts, preferably in a project finance context.

Strong project docs experience in all or some of the aforementioned, with a focus on actual greenfield project development matters (preference for sponsor side experience, but experience advising lenders, governments and contractors (in that order) is also helpful).  Industrial construction focused experience is good but real estate construction (e.g. commercial office buildings) doesn’t fit the practice and is not of interest.

Sectors of interest:  All aspects of new energy projects (e.g. hydrogen, carbon capture etc), renewables, power generation (thermal & nuclear) and transmission, transport, waste & water, mining and natural resources and oil & gas (upstream, midstream and downstream).
