Senior Associate - Projects & Construction
7-10 PQE
The role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Associate to join our Projects and Construction team on a full-time basis. You will be working with the National Head of Projects, his primary sectors of focus extend across the full scope of Commonwealth and State Government project and services procurement as well as defence, aviation, utilities, roads and transport.
He leads a focussed team advising on major and high profile construction projects nationally and the Asia Pacific region.
This role will see you will act for a wide range of public and private sector clients across the construction, infrastructure, and engineering industries, including high profile Commonwealth and State agencies.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience as a Senior Associate, with a background in standard construction projects
High quality private practice experience and exposure to public sector
Strong academic ability and drafting skills
The ability to provide timely, accurate and commercially astute advice
A strong sense of purpose, ambition and a proactive approach to your work
Ability to travel interstate and internationally periodically. Current regional projects include those in Fiji, Malaysia and PNG
The role will have a particular focus on construction for the Commonwealth public sector and those candidates with experience of construction and procurement for Commonwealth projects will be especially well regarded.
This role requires a person who holds or is eligible to obtain at least a 'Baseline' and if required 'Negative vetting one' security clearance will need to be an Australian citizen.
In addition to this, we're looking for a resilient, self-starter. Someone who is able to work autonomously and is focused on attention to detail and providing an outstanding service to their clients.
The Projects and Construction team
The Projects and Construction team is one of the largest dedicated construction practices in the Asia Pacific region, working on some of the most significant infrastructure, construction, engineering and contract mining projects in the region for public and private participants.
The team advise the full spectrum of participants, from owners, developers and project sponsors to Federal, State and Local Government agencies, financiers, project managers, consultants and contractors.
