Our Client is a listed financial services group with two businesses; a Consumer focused Fin-tech and an Enterprise offering data analytics .
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an Head of Legal to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) , this is a standalone role responsible for providing expert legal counsel and governance oversight across our operations.
You’ll work closely with the CFO, CEO, Board, and senior leaders to ensure that the company’s legal frameworks enable growth while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and integrity. You’ll also collaborate with the Head of Risk and Compliance , who separately reports to the CFO, to ensure strong alignment across legal, risk, and governance functions.
This is a rare opportunity to lead the legal agenda for a listed fintech, helping shape strategic decisions while protecting and enabling innovation.
What You’ll Do
● Serve as the principal legal advisor to the CFO, CEO, and Board on all corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
● Oversee corporate governance and company secretarial responsibilities.
● Provide legal guidance on ASX listing rules, financial services regulation, privacy, and consumer law.
● Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts and strategic partnerships.
● Manage engagement with external legal counsel and regulators (ASIC, ASX, OAIC, AFCA, etc.).
● Advise on key business initiatives including product development, partnerships,

● Keep the business informed of relevant legal and regulatory changes, ensuring proactive compliance.
About You
● A qualified legal professional with 10+ years PQE , ideally with experience in financial services, fintech, or ASX-listed companies.
● Strong understanding of corporate, financial services, consumer, and privacy law .
● Excellent commercial acumen with a pragmatic approach to balancing legal risk and business opportunity.
● Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with senior executives and Board members.
● Comfortable operating as a standalone legal function — hands-on, proactive, and confident managing external advisers.
● Collaborative and ethical, with a passion for supporting innovation and empowering financial wellbeing.
