Project Finance

Top Tier law firm

Band 1 rated Finance team

Great Partners

We have recently been briefed by two B&F Partners at a top tier firm who have a Band 1 rated Project Fin team, they are recruiting in both Sydney and Melbourne for lawyers at the 3-8 PQE level (2 roles)

Our Clients do a mix of project, acquisition and corporate finance in the areas of infrastructure, energy/renewables, resources and energy storage. They have a deep understanding of project finance transactions and the everyday operation of energy and infrastructure assets globally.

The teams role goes beyond simply advising on the financing of a project and extends to strategic advice and analysis, and the structuring, planning and documentation aspects of transactions but includes the financing and project development of traditional power and renewable energy transactions both in Australia and the UK. It includes advising clients on greenfield developments for infrastructure and energy assets as well as acquisitions and divestments of such assets.

Renewable Energy projects include onshore and offshore wind, solar and biomass projects and extends to advising on emerging technologies, low carbon projects and the energy transition, including energy from waste projects, battery energy storage systems, pumped hydro projects, electric vehicles and charging infrastructure as well as hydrogen projects.

In this role you will act for both financiers and sponsors on a range of multi-jurisdictional transactions across the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.

Beyond Project Financing this team assist clients with limited recourse project financing, acquisition financing, borrowing base lending, as well as public private partnerships in Australia.

They also advise on the financing and refinancing aspects of a number of infrastructure transactions in Australia, including PPPs, in sectors such as transport, healthcare, natural resources, social infrastructure, prisons and toll roads

Their Energy and Resources team and Banking and Finance teams are Chambers Australia Band 1 practices, reinforcing the exceptional work they do with clients and the market-leading energy and infrastructure projects we advise on.

They have previously successfully hired lawyers with a focus on Property, or Construction, or Corporate finance and are open to any experienced finance lawyer from 3-8 PQE that is interested in their practice mix.

One of the Partners sits on the global board of the firm, and having recently returned from their AGM has a mandate to further build out their team and grow the practice. Both Partners, as well as being really impressive lawyers are really down to earth and easy to work with.

Given their growth mandate there are very good prospects for career advancement in their team.
