Our client is a multi billion dollar Energy Company with an enormous CapEx for further underwriting new Energy projects and the growth of the business. This is a hugely exciting time to join the business and the Legal team as they scale up to take on these new challenges.

The Role

The role of Corporate Lawyer - Corporate & Commercial will assist the Head of Legal and Snr Counsel Corporate & Commercial in managing the company’s corporate legal responsibilities. The Company operates in a highly regulated industry, facing a broad range of legal obligations.

The Corporate Counsel will assist in the preparation of board material, including draft resolutions, and provide guidance on governance practices and corporate policies. The Corporate Counsel will be familiar with all typical corporate commercial arrangements, ranging from Non-Disclosure Agreements to Asset Purchase Agreements.

The Corporate Counsel will advise on major transactions such as acquisitions, financing arrangements, statutory reporting employment related matters, and . As the needs of the business fluctuate, the Corporate Counsel may be involved in other areas of legal significance, including approvals and licencing compliance, cyber security, and modern slavery.

The ideal candidate will have;

  • 3 + years Corporate Legal experience from a top tier law firm or leading Corporate focusing on Transactional, Advisory and Governance work

  • Have experience dealing with Corporate Regulators

  • Be able to lead the negotiation and preparation of legal documents for major acquisitions

  • Work with the Compliance and Audit teams to advise on Regulatory obligations

  • Be willing to upskill and advise on new areas of law either Energy industry specific or related to being part of a small in house team - Employment, Compliance etc

  • Previous Energy industry experience is a nice to have - not a requirement
