Our client is a global business, and recognised leader in utility scale renewable energy projects. Due to continued growth and investment in the business they are recruiting a Portfolio Manager to join its local Asset Management team - Reporting to the Head of Asset management.

They are searching for a motivated candidate, who is excited to gain exposure to some of the most significant renewable energy assets built in Australia.

The role requires a person with excellent financial understanding and projects background, with a critical eye, and good written communications. They will also have to be an excellent communicator who can engage, and negotiate and manage the relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

In coordination with the local Project Finance team

• Maintain relationship with the Agent and Projects lenders during the construction and operations phase

• Coordination and delivery of Financial Models Updates and performance of Liquidity Analyses if required

• Monitoring of compliance of Project Documents (eg PPA, EPC Contract etc) with Finance Documents

• Project Bank Guarantee management and extensions In coordination with the local Finance team

• Monitoring the assets’ prudential forecast from AEMO and ensuring that a positive trading margin is maintained.

• Prepare bank reports as required by the loan documents in coordination with the finance team

• Prepare responses to lender queries (i.e. KYC updates, queries on Compliance Certificates)

• Prepare cost to complete for projects that have not achieved conversion and are under Asset Management phase

• Cash and DSCR forecasts as required by project finance team

• Prepare treasury forecasts for projects under construction and in operation

• Prepare Bank Guarantee forecast for projects under construction and in operation

• Prepare projects under operation budget in coordination with the Head of Asset Management

• Manage any required budget increase for projects under operation during the year

• Review and approve Austraclear settlements (settlements will be uploaded to Austraclear by the finance team)

• Manage any required communication with PPA Counterparties regarding operational matters

• Approve invoices in SAP, in coordination with Asset Managers

• Provide ad-hoc support for other asset/portfolio management activities

SKILLS AND EXPERTISE

• Minimum five (5) years experience in portfolio management, financial controlling, infrastructure project finance or contracts or commercial management.

• Experience ideally gained in a commercial or investment bank, investment fund. Infrastructure Advisory or financial advisory firm, but not essential if supported by suitable experience track record

• Advanced MS Excel skills with a proven track record in working with large and complex spreadsheets. MS Visual Basic knowledge and experience highly valued, but not essential

• Understanding of financial principles and project finance appraisal techniques. This would ideally correlate with similar financial modelling experience along with an understanding of modelling best practice principles in a project finance environment

• Advanced analytical, numerical and organisation skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both with internal and external stakeholders.

EDUCATION

• Completed bachelor or undergraduate studies with qualifications in commerce, business, mathematics, statistics, or engineering.
