Our Client

Is a rapidly growing privately owned Property Developer based in Parramatta.

Their business has grown from $0- $1bn in under 15 years, they have a large portfolio of Commercial , Retail & Residential property across three states.

They are well financed and have a development pipeline in excess of $500m currently.

They are operating out of exquisite modern offices.

They are looking for a lawyer to join the business full time to assist them in every aspect of their operations. with a focus on providing legal advice or procuring and managing external legal services providers, for all aspects of the business, as well as ensuring compliance in guiding commercial decision making, supporting the acquisitions and planning team on new potential projects and attending to the legal requirements of existing projects, including on planning, development, construction, titling, financing and sales.

Obviously this will include all facets of property work; Sales, Acquisitions, Disposals, Leasing, Conveyancing, Development, (and management of outsourced Construction) but will also include general commercial, litigation, corporate and any other matter that arises.

Our client retains leading national law firms and will continue to do so once this Legal Counsel has been hired.

The role will involve working with key internal and external stakeholders, developing a keen understanding of the businesses commercial and risk appetite and drafting and negotiating the majority of the day to day transactions and using the external lawyers to assist on sign off of transaction s of a larger value or commercially more sensitive matter

What you will bring

This is a fast paced, high growth commercial environment, our client is looking for a lawyer who can help to bring good governance and legal risk management to the company whilst still assisting them in their commercial aims.

This role will not suit someone who enjoys being an ivory tower black letter lawyer, but rather someone who is genuinely part of the business.

You will need to have a personality whereby you thrive on working on large transactions but also are happy working on the lower level day to day matter as well.
