The Company

Our Client is a listed digital wagering service and technology company

With a proven management team that has a history of excellence, they have achieved an enviable rate of growth since the company was started and has recently listed on the Australian stock exchange. The company has aggressive plans to expand its operations in both Australia and North America and are looking for an ambitious and detail-oriented junior lawyer to join us on this journey.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to join a publicly listed company in serious growth mode. Our clients Legal and Regulatory team is expanding quickly and is looking for highly organized, motivated and enthusiastic people. Reporting to the Head of Legal and Regulatory, you will work alongside our management, marketing, technology, finance and compliance teams on a range of matters.

We pride ourselves on being nimble – our people are comfortable taking on new challenges and no two days will be the same.

The successful candidate will work on:

Drafting and reviewing contractual arrangements with third party suppliers related to marketing, sponsorship, technology, and finance.
Advising and coordinating with internal teams to ensure compliance with a range of regulatory requirements related to above the line advertising, digital promotions, AML/CTF, KYC and responsible gambling.
Assisting in presentations to the Board of Directors and the Global Compliance Committee.
Engagement with industry stakeholders on regulatory changes and preparing submissions for regulatory bodies, sporting authorities.
Ensuring compliance with licensing requirements across domestic and international jurisdictions.
Drafting submissions in response to Player disputes.
Assisting in the drafting, maintenance and development of employment agreements.
Assisting international colleagues with review and drafting of market access agreements and sports betting license applications.

In addition to a friendly work environment and interesting mix of work, the successful applicant will be offered an attractive salary package commensurate with experience. We want everyone to be invested in our success too, so you will also be eligible for our short term and long term employee bonus and share schemes. The salary range for this role is approximately $90-125k (base inc super) Plus STI Cash (10%) and LTI Shares (10%). All of which adds up to a very compelling package at this level.


The Successful Applicant
We are looking for a candidate with the following attributes:
Minimum 1-3 years PAE in a reputable firm or in-house legal team.
Extremely organized, enthusiastic, analytically minded and detailed oriented.
Keen ability to summarise long-winded and complex regulation into simple terms for internal stakeholders.
Ability to work independently or with a broader group of colleagues from multiple disciplines.
Demonstrable experience producing quality work in an environment that often has competing deliverables (i.e. time management and priority setting).
Self-starter who is an excellent communicator and shows initiative.
Thought leader who will build a culture of compliance in the business.
