Our client is a top tier Australian firm with a busy full service Employment practice in Perth covering ER/IR & Safety work.
They are currently recruiting two growth roles in the team
Role 1. Senior Lawyer - Senior Associate level 3-6 PQE (includes Safety work)
Role 2. Senior Associate - Special Counsel 5-15 PQE - (2ic role) (Doesn’t include Safety work)
For the more senior of the roles
We are open to candidates seeking full time or part time (4 days p/w) and we can be flexible around drop-offs and pick-ups for daycare/school.
These’s role will see you responsible for strategic and complex advisory, litigation and transactional Employment law matters across Australia and internationally .
Both roles Include;
Advising on employee-related issues and integration, executive termination and remuneration, the application of industrial awards and agreements, workplace compliance reviews and regulator interaction, strategic industrial relations advice (including disputes and enterprise bargaining), global business sale and purchase arrangements, employment related grievances, and disputes and litigation (including unfair dismissal, general protections, discrimination and harassment).
Advising clients through workplace investigations into allegations of breach of employment obligations, whistleblower complaints, and bullying and harassment. This includes advising on appropriate disciplinary outcomes, workplace culture reviews and remediation of identified compliance concerns.
The more junior role will also include Safety work such as;
Advising on incidents involving fatalities, personal injury, and harm to the environment. Assisting companies to comply with their health and safety obligations and to manage the range of issues that arise following HSE incidents. This includes dealing with regulatory requirements, managing stakeholders, investigations, inquiries, prosecutions, and civil litigation.
Advising on various health and safety issues, including legal compliance, regulatory notices, audits and reviews, contractual issues dealing with safety, the interaction between safety and workplace relations, fitness for work, and managing ill and injured employees.
About you:
You will have recognised experience in employment law and industrial relations law as well as strong transactional experience gained in a similar environment and enjoy working as part of a committed and dynamic team
Strong commitment to client service and well-developed relationship management ability - you will play a key role in supporting and actively developing our relationships with our clients
Team focus - to facilitate effective teamwork by developing strong internal relationships across the National Employee Relations & Safety practice and more generally
Experience representing employers in employment disputes in the Fair Work Commission and other courts and tribunals
For the Senior Lawyer to SA level role 3+ pqe (approximately 3-6 PQE)
For the SA - Special Counsel level role 5+ PQE (Approximately 5-15 PQE)
